The Cardshark Emporium first opened its virtual doors in 2020, just before the collectibles world saw a massive surge during the Covid-era boom. Founded by Twitch streamer Fishie, the store quickly gained traction, fueled by his passion for trading card games (TCGs) and his dedicated online community. In its first year, The Cardshark Emporium enjoyed remarkable success, but Fishie made the heartfelt decision to pause operations after just one year to focus on his growing family.

Fishie’s love for TCGs goes back to the release of the Base Set Pokémon cards, a collection that sparked a lifelong hobby. Over the years, he expanded into other games like Yu-Gi-Oh! while remaining an avid gamer. His journey from enthusiast to entrepreneur began as a small Twitch streamer with a devoted community, where a friend introduced him to the concept of live breaks. The idea was a hit, with Fishie’s streams regularly drawing 30+ viewers who shared his excitement. What started as a fun community activity soon turned into a thriving business venture.

However, life had other plans. During his wife’s pregnancy with their son, Vasilli, Fishie found it challenging to balance the growing demand for The Cardshark Emporium with the responsibilities of his expanding family. He made the tough but rewarding choice to step back from the business, ensuring he could be fully present for his son’s early years.

Now, in 2024, Fishie is ready to relaunch The Cardshark Emporium with renewed energy and a commitment to making it bigger and better than ever. With Vasilli a bit older and Fishie’s passion for TCGs as strong as ever, the store is set to once again be a hub for collectors and players alike.
